Keep three different possibilities

Choose one safe option, one surprising option and one you are simply curious about. Write down what draws you to each. “I like it” becomes easier to compare when you can name the reason: a clear spelling, a particular rhythm or a personal connection.

Put the name to work

Say the full name aloud. Write it in a sentence. Check its initials, short forms and any other names that will appear beside it. For a pet, use the version you would call across a room; for a character, place it in dialogue.

Leave room to change your mind

Set the shortlist aside and return to it later. Remove names that need repeated explanation or no longer suit the purpose. If none works, generate another small batch using what you learned.

For baby or personal-name choices, independently check any meaning or cultural connection that matters to you. NameCraft’s suggestions do not establish either.
